The Lower School
The Lower School, grades K-5, helps students build a strong foundation for college preparatory studies.Starting with a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum in kindergarten, students progress through grades 1-5 building basic skills with teachers who seek to foster a lifelong love of learning through differentiated instruction and hands-onlearning. In addition to a core curriculum of language arts, mathematics, social studies and science, students participate in Visual Arts, Music, Drama, Physical Education and Spanish. Many classes maintain edible gardens and care for classroom pets. Lower School students also enjoy a wide range of after school activities, including chess, golf, tennis, science and math camps. The multi-age 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th grade classrooms provide a combined learning and mentoring opportunity in an engaging atmosphere.
The Middle School
The Middle School, grades 6-8, provides an environment where freedom of thought and inquiry is encouraged, where students and teachers communicate, both in and out of the classroom, and where fundamental skills, critical thinking, and clear, thoughtful communication are emphasized across the curriculum.
